On cutting 'entitlements'

And I most certainly am. What I've seen so far, they need not only our prayers they also need any and all help we can provide them.
When it comes to 'foreign aid'

VA, my opinion on the ''wars'' you know quite well. For the record, I initially supported Afghanistan although what we should have done there is go in hard, 'kicked lots of butts and took lots of names' then left. And none of this 'win the hearts and minds', 'bring them freedom and democracy' and 'nation-building' idiocy.
And as far as Iraq was concerned, I saw no good reason to go there back in 2002 when the neocon hype machine was going full blast to (what I disparagingly called at the time) ''get Saddam''. To me the cost of American lives was the point (money came second).
That we are still in both places dismays me to this day.
Having said that, I do see the point that making cuts to SS and Medicare/caid do have to be made. The path we are following on those programs is just plain unsustainable. They were never intended to be a pension, but to be at most a supplement to family assistance (like the fictional ''Waltons'', where Grampa and Grandma lived with the children/grandchildren) or company pension/personal savings. Plus the human lifespan has increased greatly since these programs began.
