Wait a minute, I have a blog again...

"More of the same?" I don't disagree. When Steele was made GOP chair I thought "so the Dems have their black President, I guess the GOP needs an 'affirmative action' leader as well".
And that's what he was. I have nothing against anyone when it comes to race, gender, ect.
IF that person can 'make the grade'. For a year and a half I honestly thought you were a guy!
I was kind of embarrassed when you "came out as a woman" (your words).
My point being is you "made the grade"! I liked your blog and your gender became meaningless.
Steele was put in that position purely due to his race and nothing else.
Robert Jindal "made the grade" as Gov. of LA, as you said "the bar is set pretty low for him". But he was capable of stepping over it. As far as I can tell, he's neither incompetent nor corrupt. David Duke couldn't pass 'the corrupt test' and he ran against a guy that openly ADMITTED 'he was a crook'!
That said, I don't think I could support him in a bid for President either unless it was Obama vs. Palin. In that case I would vote for him.
I know you like Gov. Palin, but I don't. When I heard her tell Katie Couric as a reply to the question "What magazines do you read?" she said "All of them".
That's the "FAIL", no one can read "all of them"!
Could she read "all of them" blogs? Even if she did nothing but read and sleep? Not likely...

UPDATE: First, fixed the 'but I don't' link above. Still getting used to this new post editor. In Blogger (and for commenting elsewhere) I generally wrote 'raw HTML' I forgot this won't accept a link wrote that way.
Second, Some suggested I was wrong about Gov. Palin saying 'all of them' when it came to magazines she read. Luckily there is:

Yeah, that's a YouTube link, they have an auto-shorten link function for those who are into Twitter. BTW, I'm not a twit, I don't do Twitter.

UPDATE II: Ok, now I do know how to access it's 'edit HTML' mode, now I can do things like drop in the YouTube video itself into a post.
Now let's see if I can get a pic to work...

3 YIH - fair enough. I see your point about making the grade, but aren't minorities generally cut more slack just by virtue of their race? On the Republican side, people won't want to criticize Cain or West lest they be called the 'r' word. Everybody (almost everybody) likes to display their fairness and lack of bias, or even to show off their colorblindness. On the Democrat side, any black Republican is always raked over the coals, like Clarence Thomas, Condoleezza Rice and the rest. They get called names and are the subject of nasty editorial cartoons, etc.

Anyway it keeps the topic of race and 'racism' in the spotlight, which is only keeping the wounds open on both sides. So I still believe we don't need more of that.

About my own 'coming out as a woman', actually I was outed by Fjordman, when he referred to me as a 'she' and then 'dchamil' asked me point-blank if I was a lady. So I was outed.

Yes, I know some of my readers were somewhat embarrassed at thinking I was a man, and one of them absented himself for a couple of months after that. I felt bad for that.

Anyway, good to see  you back.
